As a marriage counselor, I use a direct approach to therapy, by asking challenging questions in a safe environment to help you see your situation from new perspectives. I give guidance and marriage exercises for struggling couples, so you may unlearn harmful behaviors and begin working toward a satisfying and lasting solution.
Often times, marriage counseling means exploring the impact your past, society and culture have had on your present patterns of thought and behavior. Working with my clients, we often find that their patterns of communication and interaction have been deeply influenced by emotional injuries during childhood. By combining Integrated Body Psychotherapy (IBP), Attachment Theory and Gestalt Therapy, my clients can identify and separate thoughts, emotions, feelings and bodily sensations. When you learn how to understand how your present decisions are shaped by your past can help clients you will be able to recognize and correct destructive behaviors and take control of your future.
